The Urban School is located in the middle of the city’s Haight Ashbury neighborhood. The building is a mixed-use building with a full-size cross-court gymnasium, multiple classrooms, a 2-level student commons, a café and a courtyard.

Description: The Urban School had devolved into a disconnected maze of small rooms, its redevelopment plan was to transform and expand its campus.
The new facility provides for a new gymnasium and additional classrooms, in a several-story structure that would conceivably include below-ground or street-level parking. It would allow the school to increase enrollment about 10 percent, to roughly 420 students maximum.
